Blast Outside the Media Office in Karachi Injures 2

Two persons at least have been injured when the offices of 2 media houses were targeted by unknown armed men in Karachi, the financial capital of Pakistan. As per police, a driver and a security guard were injured when a hand grenade was thrown at the entrance of Business Recorder House by two motorcyclists.

The Business Recorder House has the offices of Aaj TV channel and Business Recorder newspaper.

Aamir Shaukat, a police official, said that the motorcycle riders escaped, but luckily the blast didn't result in much damage. TV footage of incident shows 2 men who stopped in front of the building’s gate and one steadily got down and threw the grenade.

The incident is similar to another where 2 men attacked Waqt TV office in the identical way throwing grenade at the entrance. The Waqt TV office is situated in the same neighborhood. Thankfully that grenade didn't explode.

In past, Express media group has also been once under attacks by militants. Shahidullah Shahid, The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan spokesperson, had sent a warning to TV channels to modify their approaches or they would be targeted also.

The responsibility for an attack on one of Express vans killing 3 staff members was claimed by Taliban.
