Imran Khan Asks Pakistan Army to Stop Operation In Civilian Areas Temporarily

According to a private TV channel, Imran Khan, PTI Chairman, has asked Pakistan Army to stop their operations in the areas of North Waziristan temporarily where civilians have not yet evacuated. He, while addressing a press conference today, said that the military operation must not be continued in areas where children and women are currently stranded. He said that as per the details available with PTI, militancy would be extended to regions that border Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following the operation.

Security, as per Imran, should be increased in these bordering areas, in addition to an increase in the police force. He also advised the government to work out a plan that helps facilitate the invasion of IDPs (internally displaced persons) and also take care of growing security concerns in the country. While talking about prime minister, he urged that prime minister should focus more on rehabilitation instead of going on foreign trips at this time.

He requested the governments of Punjab and Sindh to make arrangements to facilitate the displaced people. Imran Khan also appealed the federal government to release Rs. 6bn to Khyber Pakhtukhwa government in order to help the facilitation of evacuated people. Imran referred to the fact that hospitals in district Bannu cannot facilitate so many people because the region already houses a population of 1 million, of which 500,000 are refugees from the ongoing operation.
