PML-N Strikes Back at Qadri

On Monday, law minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan made a statement, declaring that the nation now understood that chaos and power were the only objectives of Tahir-ul-Qadri. He made this statement when he spoke to the journalists outside the Punjab Assembly. According to Mashhood, the government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had taken only a year to put the country back on the road to prosperity and progress. He asserted that derailing the process of development was the only objective of political rivals and that had been made obvious when Qadri returned to the country.

The law minister said that Qadri had no right to demand protection from the Pakistan Army as he isn’t a citizen of Pakistan. The minister said that Mr. Qadri had been more worried about his own security and that the leader of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) had no paid heed to the security of the activists of the party that were standing on the roads. The minister also said that arrangements had been made by the Punjab government for protecting the innocent people in Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi. He said that security threats had been created by the PAT workers when they tried taking over the Benazir Airport and damaged public property so the flight had been diverted to Lahore Airport.
