Suicide Blast Left 3 Dead, 14 Injured; TTP Claims Responsibility

The banned TTP (Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan) has claimed the responsibility of Peshawar Suicide Blast today which left three people dead and fourteen injured, the CCPO Peshawar Ijaz Khan confirmed. Among the dead, there was one woman, one FC official and a bystander. The dead bodies and the injured were taken to the (CMH) Combined Military Hospital and The Lady Reading hospitals. Hospitals sources furthers declared 3 injured as critical. The suicide attack aimed to target Brigadier Khalid Javed, Shahidullah Shahid; the TTP spokesman confirmed, but he escaped the Blast and is safe. Several vehicles were damaged due to the blast on the busiest road of the Peshawar city, the Saddar road.

Shahidullah Shahid, the spokesman of the TTP, declared this suicide attack as the reaction to the ongoing military operation; Zarb -i- Azb; against militants in North Waziristan. The spokesman of TTP further warned that such attacks would be carried out on PMLN government officials until and unless the military operation in North Waziristan is brought to an end.

45 kilogram of explosives was used in the bomb, confirmed AIG Bomb Disposal squad, Shafqat Malik. Mortar shells were also added in the bomb to increase the intensity of the explosives, said Malik.
