Pakistan Condemns the “Shameful Acquittal” of Culprits Involved in the Demolition of Babri Mosque

The shameful acquittal of the culprits involved in the destruction of centuries-old India’s Babri Mosque in 1992 has been strongly condemned by Pakistan. Pakistan said that the Hindutva-inspired Indian Judicial system has once again miserably failed to deliver justice.

On Wednesday, an Indian court absolved the top leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who were reportedly involved in the conspiracy behind the mob demolition of the 16th century’s Babri Masjid, which had fanned the communal riots, resulting in more than 2000 is dead.

In a statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Office said it took three decades for the Indian Judiciary to decide on the heinous and criminal act that was life telecasted and was a result of a well-planned RathYatras and was prompted to the mobs by the accused VHP, BJP, and other members of the Sangh Parivar, this shows how miserably the Indian Judiciary has failed to deliver the justice again.

The criminals who had fanned the criminal act, would not have been set free, had there been a semblance of justice in the so-called largest democracy, added the statement. The statement further remarked that this act is yet another manifestation of the docile judiciary under the regime of the extremist BJP-RSS in which all the principles of justice and international norms come second to the extremist “Hindutva” ideology.

Last year, the partisan verdict by the Indian Supreme Court set the wrong direction when it handed over the premises of Babri Masjid for building Ram Mandir to the very Hindu parties which has destructed the mosque in the first place. The acquittal today has been said to be even against the verdict that had stated that the demolition was egregious damage to the rule of law.

The statement held the RSS-BJP regime and SanghParivar responsible for the nonstop vandalism and demolition of mosques in India in a systematic manner just as they did during the Delhi pogrom in 2020 and the Gujarat massacre of 2002. Hindu zealots attacking the Muslims’ places of worship have continued even during the pandemic. Backed by RSS, Hindu zealots are now after the removal of the ShahiIdgah Masjid which is located right next to the Krishna Temple in Mathura so that the ownership of the entire 13.37 acres of land can be given to the Krishna Temple Complex, claimed the statement.

The statement then stresses that Pakistan demands of the Indian government to ensure the safety, protection, and security of the minorities, especially the Muslims and their worship places and other Islamic sites that have been laid claimed on by the Hindu Zealots.

The statement also called the United Nations, the world community, and other international organizations to play their roles in protecting the Islamic heritage sites in India from the extremist Hindutva regime.
