Maryam Nawaz Accuses PM Imran of Serving his ‘Selectors’ Instead of the Nation

The Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Maryam Nawaz, believes that the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, is only focused on serving his ‘selectors’ in the country, and not the nation.

She was addressing a public gathering in the Daska town of Sialkot. This rally was held ahead of the by-polls that have been scheduled for the 19th of February, Friday, to decide which party wins the seat in the National Assembly.

The Vice President asserted that the upcoming election is not only going to decide who gets the seat in the National Assembly. Rather, it will help the people wage a war against those she claimed to steal the votes of the people. She encouraged people to vote for the candidate who belongs to her party by stating that he will serve the citizens of the country.

Maryam accused the premier of coming into office through underhanded means. She said that he was brought into power to be a puppet and serve the nation. However, she believes that he is only focused on furthering the goals and aspirations of his ‘selectors’.

The leader of the PML-N applauded the fact that the people of Punjab, for the first time in history, have refused to submit to a ‘tyrannical’ ruler and stood strong for their rights.

Maryam Nawaz alleged that Khawaja Asif, the stalwart of PML-N, who belongs to the Sialkot district, was arrested only because he clearly refused to stop support the supremo of the party, Nawaz Sharif.

According to her, she too had to endure hardships due to the fact that her father is the ultimate leader of the party. However, she stated that she never wanted to leave his side and so, she never did.

The Vice President of PML-N went on to say that the ‘incumbent government’ was involved with all the culprits minting money out of the sugar and flour crises. In her opinion, people are missing the tenure of her father because he ended the load-shedding of power and rid the country of terrorism.

The teary-eyed Maryam went on to express her sadness at the fact that Shehbaz Sharif was dragged away from his supporters from Punjab. She asserted that the people of the provinces are missing out on the rule of the supremo’s brother as the Chief Minister of Punjab.

Just earlier in the month, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) made a decision to withdraw all of its candidates for the by-elections from the two seats of Punjab. This move was made to grant a greater winning opportunity to the candidates of PML-N.

This decision was reciprocated by the PML-N to show its own gesture of goodwill. The party did not field any of its candidates for the three provincial seats in the Sindh Assembly.

As per the statement issued by the PPP, the President of the Punjab chapter, Qamar Zaman Kaira, believes that it is in their best interests to stand by PML-N. Moreover, he maintained that the party will show its support to PML-N, when it comes to either provincial assembly seats or seats in the National Assembly.
