Pakistan Reports 26 Coronavirus Related Deaths in One Day
On Monday, Pakistan reported a total of 26 deaths related to the coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The death toll for the country now stands at 11,638.
As per the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), majority of the deaths were reported in the province of Punjab, then followed by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The NCOC further added that out of these 26 patients who died, 15 had been on ventilator for the past day at least.
Currently, the highest number of ventilators have been occupied in Multan with an occupancy of 41% exactly. Islamabad came in second with an occupancy of 37%, followed closely by Lahore at 35%. Meanwhile, the ventilator occupancy in the city of Peshawar is at 28%.
On the other hand, the highest number of oxygen bed occupancy in Pakistan was in Peshawar at 42%. It was followed by Karachi at 35%, Multan at 34%, and Bahawalpur at 27%.
Additionally, the center reported that there had been 1,615 new cases in the country, which led to a total number of 546,428 cases. As of now, the total number of active cases in the country are at 33,493.
Furthermore, the number of active cases in the province of Sindh was 11,031. Punjab reported 11,431 total active cases with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) following up with 6,077 patients of the coronavirus. Data collected from Islamabad revealed that there are 5,059 active cases in the capital. Balochistan reported the number of patients battling the disease to be 438, followed by 400 from Gilgit Baltistan, and 349 people from Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Of the total of 11,638 reported deaths, 3,996 occurred in Sindh and 4,747 in Punjab. The capital city revealed that 475 deaths had taken place there, whereas 1906 people in K-P lost their lives to the coronavirus.
Meanwhile, around 195 deaths were reported in the province of Balochistan, 102 deaths in G-B, followed by 262 in AJK.
The NCOC also informed that nearly 1,278 patients in Pakistan had recovered from the deadly disease in the past 24 hours. Now, the total number of recoveries is 501,252.
It was further reported by the center that up until now, the country has performed a total of 7,966,981 tests. More than 630 hospitals in Pakistan have been established to have coronavirus facilities, which are currently housing over 2,500 patients.
