Armed Forces Should Establish Their Writ Within Orbit of Constitution; Altaf Hussain

LONDON: Altaf Hussain, Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) urged armed forces on Friday to establish their writ staying within the limits of Constitution.

Altaf Hussain said he has always been against martial law. However, he does expect the armed forces to play a positive for the safety of property and lives of masses and the integrity of country in prevailing the ongoing political crisis.

Altaf appreciated the role of forces in defending borders and fighting in North Waziristan. However, he showed his regrets upon undermining of armed forces’ credibility on the floor of house.
