Culprits of Karachi Bus Tragedy Confess Sabeen’s Murder
Syed Qaim Ali Shah, the Sindh Chief Minister announced on Wednesday that the killers who had been arrested in connection with the Karachi bus tragedy had also confessed to the murder of Sabeen Mahmud, the social activist. He also added that the same group had been involved in carrying out the attack on the American professor Debra Lobo.
While talking to the media regarding the developments in recent terror attack and target killing investigations in Karachi, the chief minister appreciated the efforts of the Sindh Police and said that they had unearthed a dangerous group of terrorists who were involved in a number of other terrorist activities within the city.
He further asserted that the alleged mastermind behind the killing of Sabeen Mahmud had been finally arrested by security authorities. The suspect’s name is Saad Aziz and he is an engineering student of a notable university. The provincial chief minister said that the arrested terrorists brainwashed people by preaching terrorism to them and then trained them for carrying out terrorist activities.
Qaim Ali Shah also said that the arrested suspects had also confessed to carrying out attacks on police mobiles in MA Jinnah Road, northern Nazimabad, Arambagh, Gulistan-e-Johar, Landhi and Shah Faisal Colony. Shah also stated that the alleged terrorists also had weapons in their possession including five grenades, seven 9mm pistols, three AK-47s and a substantial quantity of explosive materials. Apart from that, laptops were also recovered from the possession of terrorists and they had terrorism related literature stored on these laptops.
