PTI’s New Structure; Shocking Omission, Valuable Addition

Prime Minister Imran Khan has made a few significant changes in his political party (Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf) after having a poor performance in the initial phase of local elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The changes have been made to the new organizational structure which saw a surprise omission and valuable inclusion to the party.

Pakistan Foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi misses out on the new organizational structure after serving his duties as PTI’s vice chairman for a long period of time. Shah Mahmood Qureshi not being apart is a massive omission in the structure. The purpose of making a forthright decision is only to enable the party to show much better performance in the upcoming local government elections in the Punjab region and the remaining districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa. Neither the PTI leader nor Qureshi has spoken to the media about his omission in the new structure.

Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak is a valuable addition. He has been selected as a key player for the party in the new structure. Pervaiz Khattak has a very successful political track record in the region of KP. Moreover, he is a firm believer in having cordial relations with political rivals. He along with his family members has been seen winning elections for PTI on several occasions. He is such a humble person; even his opponents never had any complaints against him during his time as a KP chief minister.

After Khattak's five-year tenure as a KP chief minister had seen PTI winning elections in KP for the second consecutive time. He has played a major role in the uprise of the party and will always be remembered as a hardworking leader to inspire workers within the party.

Just like other political parties, PTI revolves around its chairman- Imran khan.  The impact and influence of new office-bearers would not matter a lot in running and managing a party at the micro level for organizational purposes.

There are a lot of ambiguities on how the new secretary General Asad Umar will perform. He has got an ample amount of knowledge and experience in giving briefings and presentations on diverse issues but he lacks big time to impress when to confront and interact with ordinary people. His performance will stay under observation for some time.

Federal Minister Khusro Bakhtiar joined the PTI right before the parliamentary elections took place in 2018. He was selected as a president for southern Punjab and is also known highly for having his constituency in southern Punjab. How will the Khusro Bakhtiar perform and help the party in the next general election is everyone waiting for?

Federal Minister Shafqat Mahmood has no significant background of being a leader to lead a certain amount of people. He has been in charge of an important political region Punjab which is popular as Muslim league Nawaz (PMLN) backyard.

Ali Zaidi is taking care of the responsibilities as a federal minister in Sindh where PTI is considered weak as compared to other regions of the country.
